My name is Ben Wilkinson and I joined the team at The Vineyard Practice in August 2015 after gaining an Integrated Masters’ Degree at the European School of Osteopathy.
My initial interest in osteopathy (funnily enough) began with the same man I now work alongside. Steve Davies treated me as a young injured rugby player, and without his skills as an osteopath, I wouldn’t have been able to reach the level of rugby and athletics that I did. Prior to working at The Vineyard Practice, I spent my days sailing around the Mediterranean on superyachts – tough, I know, but whilst working on the yachts I managed to sustain a lower back injury, which consequently only an osteopath was able to help me. It seemed only right that when I decided to be an osteopath I would work at The Vineyard Practice and now here I am.
My style of treating focuses on tailoring techniques specifically to the patient, in order to reduce pain and improve function. I use a variety of techniques including soft tissue massage, gentle-focused manipulation and rehabilitation exercises. I work with the spine, muscles, joints and structures of the body, and my aim is to assess, diagnose, treat and prevent a wide range of conditions. I understand the importance of listening to my patients and discussing potential treatment approaches in order to provide the most beneficial treatment plan that I can.
Common muscle and joint conditions osteopaths treat:
Foot and Ankle Pain
Hand and Elbow Pain
Tennis and Golfers Elbow
